1967-69 - UH-1C "Stinger
236" The "Stingers" flew UH-1B and -1C model
gunships. The Stingers used the color red to identify their platoon. This C
model gunship carried a red roof stripe, red skid markings, red tailplane
outer edges, red tail leading edge, and red tail boom rear end. In contrast
to the 116th lift platoon practice, a five-digit a/c number was painted in
black on the tail. Stinger 236 was armed with the M157 rocket launcher
system. |
